27-year-old Jay Alli-Balukoff faces four charges, including driving under the influence

Miami Beach police say they have arrested the driver who fled the scene after striking four pedestrians Saturday night.

According to a report, 27-year-old Jay Alli-Balukoff drove on the sidewalk to pass vehicles that were stopped at a red light at the intersection of Collins Avenue and 63 street.

Once Balukoff approached the intersection, he continued to speed through the red light, striking four pedestrians and injuring two, the report says.

They say once police pulled Balukoff over, officers could "smell the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from [Balukoff's] breath".

A breathalyzer test showed Balukoff's blood alcohol levels were twice the legal limit, the report says.

Balukoff now faces four charges including driving under the influence, reckless driving, reckless driving cause damage to person, and leaving the scene of a crash.

The two injured victims were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital, and are in stable condition, police say. The other two victims were treated and released on scene.
