Friends and customers flocked Sunday to a Sweetwater barbershop to pay their respects a day after an employee was shot to death in a dispute with another barber.

Erick Ibarra, 26, was killed Saturday at the Fast Cuts Barber Shop at 10002 W. Flagler St., allegedly after a dispute with fellow barber Rene Rojas.

"He was a great barber, he was a great friend of mine," said friend Damian Zelaya, who frequently had his and his son's hair cut by Ibarra.

It's unknown how the argument began but Ibarra wound up shot in the torso as customers sat in chairs getting haircuts.

He was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital where he later died. Rojas was arrested at the scene and is being held on first-degree murder charges.

Miami-Dade Police are still investigating.

Zelaya said Ibarra has no family in South Florida so friends are collecting money so he can be buried in his home country of Nicaragua.

"I can't believe he got killed, cause this guy was never in trouble, he don't look for problems, nothing," said Zelaya ."I don't know how he got killed."
