A man is facing grand theft charges after authorities say he overbilled the City of Hialeah and Miami-Dade Aviation for gas and oil.
Amancio Alonso, 67, was arrested Wednesday, Miami-Dade Police said. He was booked into jail and it was unknown if he has an attorney.
Alonso is the owner of MacMillan Oil Company and sister company Hialeah Transport. He allegedly charged for a more expensive type of oil and gasoline but delivered a cheaper kind.
The alleged crimes took place between 2009 and 2014, and Hialeah was overbilled more than $46,000 and Miami-Dade Aviation overbilled more than $3,200, police said.
