Craps and roulette could be coming to casinos run by the Seminole Tribe of Florida under a bill that is finally moving in the Florida House.
A divided House panel on Tuesday voted in favor of a bill that would ratify a $3 billion deal between the state and the tribe. The same committee also approved a proposed constitutional amendment that would require voter approval for any future gambling expansion.
But it remains uncertain if the entire Florida Legislature will accept the deal that was negotiated by Gov. Rick Scott.
Some legislators remain concerned about how the deal will affect existing dog and horse tracks in the state. Some Republicans say they are opposed to allowing more gambling in the state.
A Senate panel was supposed to consider the same bill, but Sen. Rob Bradley postponed a vote after senators proposed changes.
