The fourth annual Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade was underway Sunday as gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgenders and their supporters gathered on Ocean Drive.
Transgender issues advocate and child of Sonny and Cher Chaz Bono is the grand marshal of the event, which includes floats, presentations and musical performances. About 60,000 people were expected to attend, according to the group.
Gay pride events have been held this week in Miami Beach since Thursday and included exhibits, receptions and parties.
The parade, which will end at 9 p.m., is being held between 5th and 14th Streets. The area will be closed to traffic.
