A woman accused of kicking people's genitals in Manatee County was charged with battery on an officer when she allegedly punched a sheriff’s deputy in the face, authorities say.
A sheriff’s report says the deputy responded Tuesday afternoon to a dispatch call of a "female in the street kicking people in genitals and running around," according to the Bradenton Herald.
The deputy was able to get the suspect, Katina Collins, 38, on the ground after pursuing her, but not before she allegedly punched the deputy and caused his sunglasses to fall off, the newspaper reported.
According to Manatee County jail records, Collins remained jailed Friday morning.
