Is there finally a reason to ride the bus in this transit-challenged city?
Today Miami-Dade transit sent out a release promoting the new Airport Flyer.
According to the release, the bus will provide express service from "about" 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. - which means those with getting in at 10:45 p.m. better just call a buddy - seven days a week.
The AF (Route 150, if you're nasty) will leave from Terminal E, located in front of customs, make one stop at the Earlington Heights Metrorail station, wherever that is, and then head to 41st Street on Miami Beach and continue down Collins Ave.
Luckily, the AF, which is federally funded, isn't your typical public transport. "Passengers can ride in style aboard 40-foot buses equipped with luggage racks and comfortable seating." And it's just $2.35 each way.
The buses will be "specially branded for easy identification."
So if you get on "Mr. Guillermo's Sweet So-Bee Ridez" and end up in Hialeah, don't blame us.
