Greater Fork Lauderdale Dining App Puts Restaurant Choices at Your Fingertips

The app features 43 restaurants in Broward

When it comes to dining out, the options can sometimes be a little overwhelming – but choosing your restaurant scene just got a little easier with the Greater Fork Lauderdale Dining App.

“It’s our Greater Fork Lauderdale – fork as in your utensils – dining app. We have all of our restaurants in the local Broward area listed on there,” said Jessica Taylor, the media relations director for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau.

With Fort Lauderdale’s diverse dining options at hand, the app allows you to do and search everything from nearby restaurants to asking questions about where to get the best pizza.

iPhone Feature Finds Woman's Stolen Phone

“I think it’s a great idea in that it’s information-based and when you arrive here from somewhere else as we have both done, we will look for information to find where to dine and our experience will be enhanced, as long as we have that information to make those correct choices,” tourist Peter Giles said.

Nathan Yoder, the general manager at Johnny V on Las Olas Boulevard, says the app is a great tool to help you understand where you think you may want to eat.

“You might be looking for a place that you think is very high-end but you realize can actually be fairly casual. You can sit down and relax and have a nice cheese plate with a couple of glasses of wine or a very reasonable lunch experience that you might have overlooked.”

Einstein's Brain? There's an App for That

You could say the new feature puts the “app” in appetite, allowing you to find 43 of the top restaurants in Broward County with the simple swipe of the finger.

“The app is GPS-enabled so you can easily navigate throughout the location where you are,” Taylor said, adding that you can also use it to ask a local for recommendations.

The app arrives just in time for six weeks of Dine Out Fort Lauderdale, followed by the new Flavors of Fort Lauderdale events in October and November.

The free app is available at the iTunes Store for the iPhone, iPad and the iPod Touch.
