Artist David Datuna, who says he is the first in the world to mix art with Google Glass, spent several months working with developers to incorporate technology in his work.
Harper's Bazaar is mixing fashion with art during Basel with a pop up shop where people can buy clothes styled by a magazine editor.
For the second year in a row, the magazine has set up ShopBAZAAR at Soho Beach House, a pop up shop that will be open Wednesday and Thursday during Art Basel.
During the first year, the magazine organized an entirely digital experience pop up show. This year, they have set up a bigger shop, where customers can shop in person and online.
“This year we have actual shopping bags and you can leave with the beautiful clothes that you see styled by a BAZAAR editor,” said Megan Reynolds, the magazine's senior shopping editor.
The shop will have previews of spring fashion and exclusive pieces for Art Basel week.
“It’s a live interpretation of the magazine and you can actually shop from it,” she said.
Reynolds said that mixing art with fashion is something the magazine has previously done and she expects the concept to continue growing.
“There will be more and more fashion presence in Art Basel and it’s only going to get bigger,” Reynolds said.
As for what to wear during the art fairs, Reynolds recommends red.
“Another easy way to do it is in your footwear, some really pretty shoes with friendship bracelets accents or if you want to do a fun color like red, that’s a good way to dress for Art Basel. It’s still loud but not too loud.”
