A four-year-old Yorkshire terrier took a nearly two month trip on her own from Dallas to Miami, and she might have died if not for a Magic City good samaritan.

Sunshine had apparently grown tired of her Texas condo and was ready for a little sun and fun in Miami.

She went missing on June 25, and wasn't seen again until she was spotted over 1,000 miles away on Biscayne Boulevard last week, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Her owner, 77-year-old Jodi Head, wasn't sure the tiny terrier would have been able to paw her way from Dallas to Miami.

"We don't know how she got to Miami," Head told the Morning News. "It had to be someone visiting here or someone who moved from this complex."

Micha Porat, who found Sunshine, said she was sick and traumatized. Porat said that he was able to find Sunshine's owner through an implanted microchip.

Head will be reunited with Sunshine this week.
