The streets are a little safer for prostitutes in South Florida now that Dane White is behind bars.

White, 28, was arrested Tuesday and charged with aggravated battery after police allege the security guard is responsible for the brutal beatings of at least 13 prostitutes in Palm Beach and Broward counties.

But this wasn't some vendetta against working girls. White confessed to police and said he beat up prostitutes because he was mad his girlfriend of four years had broken up with him.

"He simply beat them unconscious and repeatedly beat them and left them for dead," Delray Beach police Detective Gene Sapino said at a press conference Wednesday. "He loved [his girlfriend] and could not harm her so he took it out on the other people."

White's rage left several women lying in a pool of blood and missing teeth. Some of the women's mouths were swollen shut for days, detectives said.

It took several police agencies to finally track down White, who was arrested at his security gig. Police still aren't sure just how many women fell victim to White's heartbreak-inspired actions.
