Heat Complete Road Trip With Loss to Blazers

The Heat finished their road trip 2-1 with their loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday

The Miami Heat finished off a three-game road trip with a 99-92 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday.

Even though it ended with a defeat, the trip was a successful one for Miami. The team is now 5-6 on the season in road games after taking two of three during this brief trip. The Heat will only return home for one contest, before heading right back on the road for three more games.

At times, it appeared that Miami could go a perfect 3-0 on the trip as it held leads in this contest. A pivotal second quarter however changed things. After the Heat took an eight-point lead into the second quarter, Portland went into the half with a six-point advantage. The Heat would reduce the deficit in the third quarter, only to let the game get away in the fourth.

Hassan Whiteside was not the reason for Miami's loss as he posted yet another big line. Whiteside double-doubled with 28 points and 16 rebounds, while also adding five more blocks. The center has made double-doubles seem easy, and has only missed the feat in a handful of games this season.

Goran Dragic almost had a magical night himself, but still posted big numbers. Dragic narrowly missed a triple-double with his 18 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. The guard also added a pair of steals for good measure in his 35 minutes of action.

Up next for Miami will be a game against the New York Knicks on Tuesday at American Airlines Arena.
