Heat Continue Solid Preseason With Win in San Antonio

The Heat improved to 3-1 in the preseason with their 108-100 win on Friday in San Antonio

The Miami Heat picked up another preseason win with their 108-100 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Friday.

Miami is also now 2-0 on the road and has shown an ability to find production up and down the roster. With most of its star power no longer on the court, Miami has turned to new names for clutch baskets in the early going. While preseason results do not always translate to the regular season, the early finals are encouraging for the Heat.

Justise Winslow is primed for a bigger role this season and he looked solid in a game against one of the NBA's best clubs. Winslow score 15 points to go along with five rebounds. The forward was also 2-3 from three-point range which is a critical statistic to watch. Without Chris Bosh's services, finding a big man to score from the perimeter will be key for Miami.

Dion Waiters' remarkable preseason continued on with 15 more points and four assists. When the exhibition schedule began, Waiters looked like an option off the bench and in the rotation. Waiters could be in line for starter minutes with the way he has played thus far.

Hassan Whiteside had his least production of the preseason so far, but he still posted a good line. The center scored 12 points and had nine boards to go along with a block and an assist. Whiteside has made doubles-doubles a routine thing, but just missed the stat in this one.

Miami will play its first back-to-back of the year when it takes on the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday. The game is considered a home game for the Heat, but will actually take place in Louisville, Kentucky.
