Heat Dominate Magic in Preseason Victory

The Heat finished off a 107-77 preseason victory over the Magic on Tuesday

The Miami Heat easily beat the Orlando Magic 107-77 in a preseason game on Tuesday.

Miamis now 4-2 in the preseason with a pair of games remaining. The Heat also improved their home record 2-2 with the win. Not all four of Miami's home games have been played in Miami, but this one was. The Heat have also played two games on neutral courts while being considered the home team.

The Heat were without the services of Hassan Whiteside due to the passing of the center's great grandmother. Whiteside is expected to rejoin the team for their next game. Without Whiteside available, Miami was able to take extended looks at its other big men.

Justise Winslow was also unable to play in this one due to an ailing back. Winslow's injury is not considered serious and he should be ready for the season opener. Winslow could see some preseason time as well before the exhibition schedules comes to a close.

Willie Reed and Derrick Williams both started for the Heat in the win. Reed ended up with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Williams had eight points and seven boards. Without Chris Bosh, the Heat will turn to their depth early and often this season. Reed and Williams should both be options for the Heat on most nights.

Goran Dragic led Miami with his 17 points in 27 minutes. The guard had four rebounds, five assists and a block in the victory. Dragic was 8-13 on his field goal tries during an efficient game.

The preseason will inch closer to ending when the Heat travel to Charlotte on Thursday for a game against the Hornets.
