Heat Fall to Magic in Double Overtime

The Heat fell to the Magic 136-130 in double overtime on Tuesday in Miami

The Miami Heat were beaten by the Orlando Magic 136-130 in double overtime on Tuesday.

Miami led by a slim margin after one quarter, but opened up the gap going into the half. The Heat took a seven-point lead into the locker room at the half to set themselves up for a much-needed win. The Magic would tie things up in the fourth quarter however and forced OT. The team's were even in the first overtime, but Orlando had more endurance in the final five minutes.

The Heat have now lost three games in a row to fall to 9-20 on the season. Miami is even worse at home with a dismal 4-11 record while playing at American Airlines Arena.

Hassan Whiteside was his usual stellar self with 32 points and 15 rebounds. Whiteside has made double-doubles look easy this year and has also hovered around a 20-20 multiple times. The center also added five blocks and a steal in the loss.

Tyler Johnson was huge off the bench for Miami with 32 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals. Johnson played a big 38 minutes and was 3-5 on his three-point tries.

Goran Dragic continued his strong run as well with 19 points, four rebounds and five assists.

The homestand will come to a close on Thursday against the Los Angeles Lakers at 8:00 p.m.
