Heat Finish Preseason With Loss

The Heat wrapped up their exhibition schedule with a 113-110 loss to the 76ers on Friday

The Miami Heat completed their preseason schedule with a 113-110 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday.

With the loss, Miami finished 4-4 in the preseason with a 2-3 record while playing as the home team. The exhibition portion of the year allowed head coach Erik Spoelstra to get a good look at his depth. Miami will finalize its roster in the coming days.

Hassan Whiteside had a promising preseason and continued that in the finale. Whiteside finished with 15 points and eight rebounds in 23 minutes. The center had a slow game his last time out, but looked more like himself in this one. Whiteside also added a block, a steal and an assist in the loss.

Goran Dragic also ended the preseason on a high note after sitting out Thursday's game. Dragic had 17 points, seven assists and five rebounds in a solid all-around game. The guard is entering the season as one of Miami's leaders and could be looked at for clutch end of game baskets.

In one of the final battles remaining, Beno Udrih scored six points and had two assists. His main competitor Briante Weber scored three points and came down with three boards. It is likely that Miami will choose between Udrih and Weber for its final roster spot.

The Heat will begin the regular season on Wednesday in Orlando against the Magic at 7:00 p.m.
