Heat Make It Look Easy in D.C.

The Heat picked up a lopsided win over the Wizards on Sunday in Washington, D.C.

The Miami Heat dominated the Washington Wizards on Sunday on their way to a 97-75 win at Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.

After an opening quarter that had things at only a one-point difference, Miami took a 17-point lead into the half. The Heat outscored the Wizards 25-7 in the second quarter in what was one of the best quarters of the season for Miami.

A big lead only got larger when Miami opened things up to a 27-point advantage early into the fourth quarter. It was at this point that both teams began to empty their respective benches. The ability to limit minutes for his starters was a welcome surprise for head coach Erik Spoelstra. His team will play the back-half of a back-to-back on Monday and more rested legs than expected.

Hassan Whiteside had no points during most of his time on the court, but was heavily involved in the action. Whiteside ended up with six points, 13 rebounds and six blocks in 30 minutes of play. The center sat out the fourth quarter with Miami's lead well secured.

Chris Bosh stayed in longer than some other starters and padded his numbers for the day. Bosh ended up with 23 points and seven rebounds to continue a solid stretch of games. The veteran has posted double-doubles in three of his last five games, and may have had another if he played more than 28 minutes in this one.

Tyler Johnson continued his solid bench work with ten points, seven rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes. Johnson has been a welcome surprise for Miami and has regularly been a factor in wins for the Heat.

The Heat will host the Indiana Pacers on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
