Heat Pick Up Big Win in Los Angeles

The Heat completed an upset victory over the Clippers in Los Angeles on Sunday

The Miami Heat beat the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday by a final score of 104-90 in what was an upset victory at Staples Center.

The Clippers are one of the best teams in the NBA and an exceptional home team as they came in with a 17-6 mark on their home court. Miami in contrast has struggled as of late and entered the game with a 15-21 record this season.

A big reason for Sunday's win was a career-best effort from Hassan Whiteside. The exciting 25-year old came off the bench and contributed 29 minutes on the court. Whiteside had 23 points, 16 rebounds, two steals and two blocks. It was one of the finer lines by a center in the NBA this year.

Chris Bosh also had a big day for Miami with his 34 points which including a dagger of a three-pointer down the stretch. Bosh was efficient as well hitting 13 of his 20 attempts. The big man added seven rebounds and two assists as well.

Playing on a bum ankle, Dwyane Wade did all he could and helped in ways outside of just scoring. Wade had 17 points, ten assists and four rebounds. The guard also picked up a steal and was 7-9 from the charity stripe.

As a team, Miami was only 6-21 on three-point attempts which is an area the team has struggled in all season long.

The Heat will take a day off before playing another game in the same building on Tuesday. The opposition that day will be the Los Angeles Lakers and the game will start at 10:30 p.m.
