Heat Set More Records, Take 2-0 Series Lead

The Miami Heat took a 2-0 series lead with their 115-103 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday.

Miami posted a season-high 72 points in the first half and set a franchise record by shooting 74.4% in that half. The 72 points were also a playoff franchise record for the first half.

This marked the second straight game that the Heat set franchise records in the points department. In its win in game one, Miami set a franchise record for points in a playoff game with 123 and field goals made with 49.

Charlotte would play more competitively in the second half, and the game was relatively close down the stretch. After being blown away in the first game, the Hornets looked more like a team that finished with the same record as the Heat in this one.

Dwyane Wade led Miami in scoring with his 28 points and made some clutch baskets in the final minutes. Wade would also add eight assists, three rebounds, two steals and a block.

Josh Richardson was big off the bench for Miami with 15 points in 30 minutes. The rookie continues to play a huge role in Miami's offense and also stays active defensively. Richardson picked up a block in the second half that helped stop a Charlotte comeback attempt.

Hassan Whiteside picked up another double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds. The center also blocked two shots, and has been just as dominant in the playoffs as he was in the regular season.
