Heat Struggle Again in Loss to Thunder

The Heat were beaten by the Thunder 97-85 on Monday in Oklahoma City

The Miami Heat fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder by a final score of 97-85 on Monday at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

The Thunder jumped out to an 11-point lead after only one quarter and took an eight-point advantage into the locker room at the half. After half time, the Thunder extended that lead even more and put the game out of reach. Miami fell to 2-4 on the season with the loss.

The play of Hassan Whiteside was part of the reason for the final score. Whiteside only had five points and failed to notch a double-double for the first time this season. The Thunder did a good job of shutting down Whiteside's production on both sides of the court. The center had two blocks and 12 rebounds while also turning the ball over twice.

Justise Winslow once again struggled with his efficiency with a 2-13 shooting day. The second-year player has had problems finding the basket all season long thus far, which has hampered Miami's ability to pick up wins.

The best game for Miami came courtesy of James Johnson. The veteran came off the bench but led Miami with his 18 points. Johnson also added six boards, a steal and two blocks in 25 minutes.

Up next for Miami is a big game against Dwyane Wade and the Chicago Bulls. Thursday's game will mark the first time Wade faces the Heat in his NBA career.
