Heat Waste Whiteside's Big Game in Loss to 76ers

Hassan Whiteside's dominant effort was wasted in a 101-94 loss to the 76ers on Monday

Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside did all he could in a 101-94 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday.

Whiteside continued his season of double-doubles with yet another one. The center also had his highest point total of the year with 32 to go along with 13 rebounds and two blocks. All that work went to waste however as Miami found little help around him.

The loss dropped Miami's record on the season to 4-9 and also moved the team to only 2-4 in road games. The Heat are in the middle of a road trip and were coming off two wins in a row. Complicating matters for Miami once again was the absence of Justise Winslow.

Dion Waiters had a solid game himself with 19 points, five assists and three rebounds. As part of Miami's current three-guard lineup, Waiters has been strong and dependable on a daily basis. Josh Richardson however has not found his consistency and only had four points in the loss. Richardson went 1-11 from the field including seven missed three-pointers.

Miami's bench was mostly quiet in the loss as well with no player standing out from the crowd. The best numbers off the bench came from Tyler Johnson who only had three points, but added nine boards himself. Johnson also had an assist and two steals.

The road trip will resume on Wednesday when the Heat travel to Detroit to take on the Pistons.
