Heat and Humidity Return on Friday

The sunshine and heat will return in a big way on Friday to most of South Florida.

The Friday forecast calls for highs in the low 90’s and heat indices pushing 104 degrees. There will be a slight chance of thunderstorms across the area as well. Friday night, temperatures will drop to around 77 degrees with partly cloudy skies.

On Saturday, the heat is back with temperatures in the low 90’s and heat indices once again climbing to the lower to mid triple digits.

Thunderstorms should return to the area to start next week with highs in the 90’s and a better than 50 percent chance of rain on Monday.

The long-range forecast hinges on what happens in the tropics as an area of disturbed weather continues trying to spin up into a tropical cyclone. As of Thursday night, the National Hurricane Center was giving the disturbance a roughly 80 percent chance of turning into a tropical depression in the next five days.
