Hialeah Family Hospitalized After Suffering From Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Inside Home

Four people were rushed to the hospital after suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning inside their Hialeah home early Friday morning.

Officers say a man came into the home off Palm Avenue and East 10th Street and found his wife and two children, both six years old, unconscious inside. All three eventually woke up and were alert, however all four victims were taken to Mercy Hospital with symptoms that included headaches, chest pain and nausea.

Officials say the victims had 20 percent carbon monoxide detected in their body, possibly the result of a generator that was left near an open door of the family’s unit. Police told other tenants to leave the generator off while their investigation continues.
