A Hialeah police officer and two others were seriously injured in a car accident, authorities said.

The accident occurred at 9:45 p.m. Friday near East 9th Court and 49th Street, and involved an on-duty undercover officer and a black sports utility vehicle. The officer was in an unmarked car at the time, according to Carl Zogby of Hialeah Police.

“The most important thing we had to do when we arrived at this accident was get the three persons to the hospital as quickly as possible,” Zogby said.

The officer was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where the SUV's two occupants were also transported. All three were listed in serious condition.
