Hialeah Woman With ‘Karma's a B–ch' Tattoo Arrested for Grand Theft

A South Florida woman sporting a "Karma's a B--ch" tattoo on her chest learned the meaning of the saying the hard way after she was arrested for grand theft.

Barbra Maleika Vandenedes, 37, was arrested Wednesday along with 28-year-old Justo Rodriguez after the pair stole a $1,500 ball machine from Rey's Pizza in Hialeah, according to an arrest report.

The report said Vandenedes had ordered some food from Rey's back on July 25 but said it wasn't cooked properly. She returned to complain and asked the cashier to make her a fresh order.

Vandenedes told police when she returned to her car the ball machine, which dispenses plastic balls with toys inside, was already in the car and she didn't know where Rodriguez had gotten it, the report said.

But surveillance footage from the pizza shop showed Vandenedes caused a distraction and signaled to Rodriguez that he was clear to take the machine, the report said.

Vandenedes appeared in court Thursday where she was ordered held on $5,000 bond. Rodriguez was being held on $6,000 bond, jail records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.
