High School, College Students Scheduling Walk-Out Wednesday in Homestead to Oppose Trump's Proposals

College and high school students from across South Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties will be taking part in a mass walkout Wednesday morning in opposition to what they say is a threat from President-elect Donald Trump toward undocumented students and their families.

COSECHA, an immigrant rights group, is organizing the protest in an effort to encourage the school districts in South Florida to declare their campuses “sanctuary” areas where students can not be detained for deportation.

The march is scheduled to start at 11 AM from high schools and colleges across the area, ending at Homestead City Hall at 12 PM.
