A high-speed chase that started in Sweetwater ended Tuesday afternoon with a driver in custody and a surprising find.

CBS4 is reporting cops found $600,000 in the car when it was impounded in West Palm Beach.

No wonder the guy was running. Luckily no one was seriously hurt during the chase, which played out in the north bound lanes Florida Turnpike at speeds of 100 mph.

It all started when the suspect, whose name hasn't been released, punched an undercover Immigrations officer during a sting.

The suspect then took off in a white Mazda heading north. Broward Sheriff's Office and West Palm Beach police joined the pursuit as the maniac driver entered their jurisdiction.

The chase finally ended just north of Okeechobee Boulevard when the Mazda clipped a pick up truck, shredding its wheels and the driver lost control of the vehicle, eventually crashing into a guard rail.
