Remains of Stolen Horse in Southwest Miami-Dade Found

Police are investigating after a horse was stolen from a southwest Miami-Dade home over the weekend and found dead Monday.

The 23-year-old horse, Thunder, was stolen from the home of Sandra Fobb in the 26000 block of Southwest 147th Avenue late Saturday or early Sunday, Miami-Dade Police said.

Investigators believe the suspect or suspects cut the fence on the east side of the property and stole the bay gelding, which can be identified by a freeze brand on his neck and a lip tattoo.

Police found tire marks where Thunder was taken and said the thief or thieves repaired the fence.

The remains of the horse were found on Monday.

The MDPD's Agriculture Patrol Unit is seeking the assistance of the community in identifying and locating the person or persons responsible. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
