Hurricane Joaquin is moving over the open Atlantic far away from land.
The hurricane's maximum sustained winds Tuesday are 80 mph. Slow weakening is forecast over the next two days.
Joaquin is centered about 665 miles south-southwest of Cape Race, Newfoundland, and is moving northeast at 18 mph.
There are no watches or warnings in effect.
