Hurricanes Finish Regular Season With Fourth Straight Win

The Hurricanes wrapped up their regular season with a 40-21 win over Duke on Saturday

The Miami Hurricanes ended the regular season on a high note with a 40-21 win over the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday.

Miami finishes the season with an 8-4 record and now will wait to find out which bowl game it will take part in. This season was a bumpy ride for head coach Mark Richt in his first year with the school. After beginning the season with four wins, Miami lost four straight before closing out the schedule with this latest streak.

After taking an early lead on Saturday, Miami fell behind by four points. The Hurricanes would then score a touchdown of their own and ended up flipping the lead back and forth two more times. Miami put away the game in the third quarter with a pair of touchdowns. Michael Badgley's leg was also partly responsible for the win as the placekicker nailed four field goals.

Brad Kaaya eclipsed the 3,000 yard passing mark for the third straight year with his 396 yards in the win. No Miami quarterback had ever accomplished this feat prior to Kaaya. The junior had four touchdown passes as part of a 22-35 day in the air.

On the ground, Mark Walton completed his regular season with 60 yards which led the team. Walton picked up a 22-yard run during the day and averaged 4.6 yards per carry. Gus Edwards had 55 yards as well on 11 rushing attempts for Miami.
