Thomas Gorzynski could barely get through his first statement before sobbing uncontrollably and burying his head in his mother's chest.

The raw feelings were still apparent Friday as Gorzynski attempted to make his first public statement since the news one of his sons stabbed his little brother to death earlier this week. William Gorzynski still sits in a Broward juvenile detention center, while his family copes with the loss of 14-year-old Matthew Gorzynski.

William stabbed Matthew once in the chest at their Coral Springs home on Monday, fatally wounding the boy.

"I have unconditional love for my son," Thomas Gorzynski said. "I know he was incapable of doing something like this. This is a tragic accident."

Gorzynski hopes a judge will allow his 15-year-old son to come home and be with "the people who love him." The single parent was flanked by his mother and his sister as he briefly addressed reporters. They all said the two brothers were "inseparable."

Police think the two boys were fighting over the volume of the speakers on the family computer. William Gorzynski's attorney said the boy acted in self defense when he plunged the knife into his little brother's chest.

The 911 emergency called revealed a frightened boy trying frantically to save his brother.
