Seacrest and Cowell often traded jabs about Cowell's age and wardrobe and Seacrest's personal grooming habits.
There have been plenty of memorable "American Idol" battles over the years: Kelly vs. Justin. Clay vs. Ruben.
How about Cynthia vs. Kevin?
Cynthia Bettis-Ware and Kevin Johnson, both of St. Petersburg, were watching the reality show in a motel room Tuesday night when an "Idol" argument turned bloody, according to tampabay.com.
After arguing over something that happened on the show, Johnson, 47, changed the channel, then went to bed when girlfriend Bettis-Ware, 52, wouldn't drop the debate.
Faster than you can say "pants on the ground," Bettis-Ware went after Johnson with a knife. The frightened man woke up with his girlfriend wielding a 10-inch butcher knife which she plunged into his back five times.
If that weren't enough, she also scalded him with a cup of hot cocoa. Johnson grabbed the knife and fled out to the motel's parking lot, where Bettis-Ware gave chase. Luckily, someone saw the enraged woman and called police, who arrested Bettis-Ware and charged her with attempted murder.
Hopefully, Bettis-Ware will stay away from "Idol" and tune into a different reality show. Might we suggest "Biggest Loser"?
