Advisory Lifted for Broward Drinking Water

Fort Lauderdale announced Monday afternoon that it has lifted a boil water advisory for all of the city's residents, and several other Broward areas, after new lab results confirmed that its "water meets all primary drinking water standards."

Repairs have been completed after a wastewater break on Indian Creek Drive on Miami Beach, and the street is due to reopen at noon, a city spokeswoman said.

Miami Beach Public Works crews are now cleaning the street before its reopening, spokeswoman Nannette Rodriguez said Saturday morning.

She said crews completed the wastewater repairs at Indian Creek Drive and 69th Street at 1:10 a.m. and then began road restoration work.

She said age does not appear to have been a factor in the failure of the 16-inch main, though it is about 60 years old. A break was formed that was about four feet long.
