Injury-Riddled Heat Fall to Hawks

The shorthanded Heat were right back on the road on Wednesday and fell to the Hawks in Atlanta

The shorthanded Miami Heat began another road trip on Wednesday with a 103-95 loss to the Atlanta Hawks.

Miami will visit Chicago and Cleveland on this trip and will end up playing six games out of seven away from home. The Heat have actually played better on the road this season and are now 5-7 away from Miami with this loss. At home, the Heat have a 2-8 record.

The Heat only had eight players rotate on the court in this one as injuries continued to take their toll on the team. Miami will remain shorthanded during the trip and the lack of depth becomes more evident with each game. The Heat showed plenty of energy and production in the first half of the game, but struggled for most of the second half.

Tyler Johnson led the team in points with 27 off the bench. The guard had five assists, two rebounds, a steal and a block in the loss. Johnson has been providing consistent production for Miami in a reserve role this season.

Hassan Whiteside had a slow game, but Goran Dragic continued his hot streak with 21 points. Dragic led all of Miami's starters in points and also chipped in four assists.

The Heat will take a day off before visiting the NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday.
