Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, along with Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Department of Corrections, are searching for an escaped inmate.
Philip Peletz, 53, walked away Tuesday morning from a road prison work detail at Okeechobee Boulevard and East Street in West Palm Beach.
Peletz was an inmate at the Loxahatchee Road Prison.
Witnesses said they saw Peletz get into an older model white pickup truck.
Investigators are searching the Loxahatchee area and following leads throughout South Florida. Anyone with information is urged to contact FDLE Miami at (800) 226-3023.
Peletz is serving a five-year prison sentence for grand theft and petty theft.
