LONDON - MARCH 16: A Boeing 747 comes into land at Heathrow Airport on March 16, 2007 in London. A US government agency has announced that winter in the Northern Hemisphere this year has been the warmest since records began. Air travel continues to be a major source of debate; attempts to slow climate change with radical policies are being tabled by scientists and politicians. Hybrid buses, which use a combination of diesel and electric power, are said to be central to the Mayor and Transport of London's plans for a cleaner, greener bus fleet in London, and aim to start cutting the capital's Carbon Dioxide emissions helping to tackle climate change. It's bad enough Miami shoppers have to dodge high prices and those annoying perfume peddlers, but they had to dodge plane parts on Friday.

Doral Police said a part from a Boeing 747 cargo plane fell 1,500 feet from the sky and landed just outside of the Dillard's department store at the Miami International Mall.

The part, which was about the size of a car, came off of a plane flying into Miami International Airport from Chile. It didn't hit anything, but from that high and at a weight of at least 50 pounds, the aluminum cover to the wing flaps could have caused some serious damage.

FAA officials are investigating how the part came off the plane and said the jumbo jet was on final approach when it lost a piece of itself.

The plane landed safely and no one was injured in the parking lot, police officials said.
