Jeb Bush Opens Miami Presidential Campaign Office

Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush opened his presidential campaign's Miami field office Saturday.

The office, located at 5430 SW 8th Street, was officially opened with an event headlined by several South Florida politicians, including Republican Congressmen Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Mario Diaz-Balart, and Carlos Curbelo.

Bush, who showed off his "Reagan/Bush '84" undershirt, spoke of the United State's role in the world.

"America's leadership in the world matters, when we're strong, we're secure," Bush said.

He also spoke about the country's new relationship with Cuba.

"Under President Obama and Hillary Clinton, we now have the American flag flying over an embassy in Havana with nothing in return," he said. "Dissidents are put in prison three days after we created diplomatic relations with Cuba. The sad reality is America is no longer respected in the world. When I'm elected President of the United States we will be respected again."

Bush's national campaign headquarters are located only a few miles away, at 9250 W. Flagler Street.

Bush, a long time Miami-Dade resident, is running against Miami native, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), who also made his campaign announcement in Miami.
