Jet Ski Thief Ring Busted by Miami Beach Police: Cops

The people arrested have entered not guilty pleas

Police are saying they've arrested a group that had a well-planned operation to steal the Jet Skis from  homes along Biscayne Bay.

Surveillance video showed the alleged thieves in action. The video was captured from a camera at a residence near Pine Tree Drive on Miami Beach.

Police say the two men were wearing water gear and black ski masks in an effort to prevent getting caught are seen opening the hood of the jet skis. They got the engines up and running and then backed out of the dock and headed into the darkness.

Police say Yadiel Valera and Sergio Aguirre were the men who were taking the Jet Skis from behind this gated home. No one was at the home this afternoon to speak about the alleged theft , but police say the pair  took two jet skis valued at $36,000.

Officers also say Danitza Ruiz, 24, was the lookout for the men, waiting at Watson Island for them. Police say she would send out text messages telling the men on the stolen Jet Skis if police are anyone else was around.

The other man arrested was Gerardo Govea, 22. Police say the plan was to use his pickup truck to transport the Jet Skis. The three men and the woman have all been charged with theft and burglary.

The four charged have either entered not guilty pleas are presumed not guilty, and they'll be back in court in the coming weeks.
