Justin Bieber's Miami Court Date Monday

The system showed that Bieber had a Monday morning following his arrest last week on a DUI charge in Miami Beach.

An "automatic, system-generated hearing" in the court system showed that Justin Bieber had a status hearing over his recent arrest, but he was not expected in court, the Dade County Courthouse spokeswoman said Monday.

The system showed that Bieber had a Monday morning following his arrest last week on a DUI charge in Miami Beach. But that wasn't the case.

"This process exists to ensure that the court follows up and no defendant charged with a misdemeanor languishes in jail. The status hearing that currently appears for 8:30 am Monday, 1/27, before Judge Mary Jo Francis was automatically scheduled under this standard procedure," said Eunice Sigler in an email statement.

If the defendant bonds out before the hearing, which is the case for Bieber, the case is rescheduled for a future hearing before a misdemeanor judge.

The case is now reset before Judge William Altfield in County Criminal Court, but no future hearings have been set, Sigler said.

Bieber, 19, was spotted relaxing on a beach in Panama over the weekend, the AP reported.

Bieber was arrested Thursday on charges of driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and resisting arrest. He was booked into the Miami-Dade Jail and later released on bond.

Miami Beach Police said Bieber smelled of alcohol when he was stopped after drag racing down a residential street early Thursday. The ordeal created a frenzy of media attention and fan reaction.
