It was by far the weirdest moment at the Oscars, so you know it had to involve someone from Miami.

Elinor Burkett, better known these days as "Lady Kanye," used to run the streets of Miami as an intrepid and talented writer for the Miami Herald, you know, when the paper wasn't asking for Internet donations or stuffing home delivered papers with basketball trading cards and snack foods.

We're sure director Roger Ross Williams wishes Burkett was still trying to make deadline at the struggling paper.

On Sunday, Williams won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short, but during his acceptance speech didn't get off the ground because Burkett rushed the stage and grabbed the mic.

What ensued was an incoherent, babbling mess that would have even made Kanye West ask, "What the hell is this crazy lady doing?"

We wonder did anyone have a mic on President Barack Obama while he watched?

But the Oscar's "Im'a Let You Finish" moment actually is a beef that has been brewing for a year.

Turns out Burkett was originally one of the producers of the film, but got the boot from the project after trying to take creative control of the project, the Herald reports.

We guess she didn't get the memo because she came to the awards show anyway, and when the film, "Music By Prudence," was announced the winner, Burkett felt entitled to hit the stage and crash the party.

With a box out Charles Barkley could appreciate, Burkett nudged Williams out of the way and made Oscars history.

Maybe Williams will address the Burkett beef on Thursday when he attends a screening of his documentary The Betsy Hotel, 1440 Ocean Drive on Thursday at 8:00 p.m.

Thus, "Lady Kanye" was born. Yet another priceless classic we can attribute to the Herald.

We are gonig to end this now, before Burkett shows up.
