LeBron's Cavs Take Down Heat in Overtime

The Heat fell to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in Brazil on Saturday in overtime

The Miami Heat took on LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday and fell 122-119 in Brazil in overtime.

The game was the first time that James has matched up against the Heat since he departed this off-season. James had a four-year run that saw Miami in the NBA Finals every season and resulted in two championships. The teams will also take on one another multiple times during the regular season.

For Miami, this was the third preseason game on the schedule and it has now lost all three. The results are meaningless record-wise and it is more important the players are logging minutes. Thus far, the Heat have done a decent job of maintaining a healthy amount of minutes for the expected starters and injuries have not been much of a concern.

The Heat trailed by 15 at the half but tied the game with nine seconds to go to send it to OT. The furious comeback was led by James Ennis and Shabazz Napier. Ennis has enjoyed an excellent preseason but Napier had been mostly quiet until this contest. Ennis finished with 17 points and two assists in 21 minutes. Napier had himself 16 points, three assists in 19 minutes.

All eyes were on James and his reunion with the Heat players on the court. Statistically, it was a relatively quiet day for the star. James scored seven points in his 20 minutes on the court at a 2-8 clip. He did turn in eight assists and three boards but turned the ball over three times as well.

Chris Bosh lit up the stat sheet the most in terms of starters for Miami as he posted 19 minutes in 27 minutes on the court. Bosh also added eight rebounds with a block and a steal in a great effort.

Dwyane Wade had a solid day himself with 12 points and seven assists. Wade was also 2-4 from downtown in a improved perimeter game for Miami. The Heat have put up abysmal numbers from three-point range in the preseason thus far and were 11-31 in this game.

Norris Cole started at point guard for Miami again but it still does not necessarily mean he will take the role from Mario Chalmers when the regular season begins. This was the second straight start for Cole at PG and he has been better than Chalmers thus far in the preseason.

The Heat will look to win their first game of the preseason again on Tuesday when they take on the Atlanta Hawks.
