A Miami Gardens school was placed on lockdown Tuesday after a woman ran into the building and locked herself in a classroom, officials said.
Police said the woman trespassed on the campus of Brentwood Elementary School on Northwest 191st Street sometime around noon.
The school was placed on lockdown while officers took the woman into custody. She was taken for a mental evaluation, officials said.
The lockdown was lifted a short time later. Officials said the woman is not an employee and isn't the mother of a student.
