A small Boca Raton college held a dedication ceremony Friday to remember the six university lives lost during the 2010 earthquake in Haiti.

Lynn University dedicated a campus plaza to the four students and two teachers who were killed. The group traveled to Haiti for the “Journey of Hope” mission one day before the earthquake struck.

President Kevin M. Ross thought the ceremony would help to honor the members of the group.

“This memorial will help us carry on the legacies of the lost members of the ‘Journey of Hope’ and make sure that their story is never forgotten,” he said.

The unveiling of the plaza showcased exotic stones, prisms, cascading water and a reflection pond. The exotic marble was donated by Marble of the World.
