A naked intruder who was trying to choke a pet Rottweiler was shot by a homeowner in Miami Wednesday morning, police said. Antonio, the dog's owner, and Miami Police spokesman Willie Moreno discuss the incident.
The man who police say was naked and choking a pet Rottweiler when he was shot by a homeowner in Miami is expected to make his first appearance in bond court Thursday afternoon.
Jeffery Delice, 20, is being held without bond following his arrest Wednesday on charges of burglary with assault, animal cruelty, lewd and lascivious battery and resisting an officer with violence.
Miami Police say the incident began when the homeowner was awoken around 5 a.m. when he heard a commotion and dogs barking outside his residence in the area of Northwest 2nd Avenue and 56th Street.
When the homeowner went to check out the noise, he confronted Delice, who was completely naked and trying to choke the dog, police said.
Delice jumped on the homeowner, who was able to pull out a weapon and shoot the nude man in the leg and hold him until officers arrived, police said.
Police said the shooting appears to be justified.
Delice was hospitalized and later booked into jail, records showed. It's unknown whether he has an attorney.
