The man accused of stabbing a woman to death and then blaming it on a phantom robber stood before a judge over the weekend.
Miguel Diaz, 20, was in bond court on Saturday where he was given no bond.
Police said Diaz was renting a room at the victim's west Miami-Dade home. Investigators said he called police telling them a robber with a knife entered the home.
When officers arrived, they found the victim dead with stab wounds on her neck.
Investigators said Diaz offered different versions of how the supposed robber entered the home. They said there is also video showing Diaz returning to the scene twice and leaving before meeting with detectives.
