Man Armed With Knife Accused of Assaulting Woman at Dolphin Mall

Felix Yera, 44, was arrested at the mall Sunday on charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery, carrying a concealed weapon and improper exhibition of a firearm

A Miami man was arrested after police say he assaulted a woman who works at a kiosk at Dolphin Mall while he was armed with a knife.

Felix Yera, 44, was arrested at the mall Sunday on charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery, carrying a concealed weapon and improper exhibition of a firearm, according to an arrest report.

The woman, who works at an I-Gear kiosk, told officers Yera approached and asked about a watch. The woman said she was showing him a watch when his hand brushed her breast, and then he moved behind her and "purposely comes into contact with her, bringing his genital area against her backside," the report said.

Meanwhile, the man's credit card was declined, but when the woman asked for the watch back, Yera said he didn't have it and claimed he'd given it back, the report said. The woman demanded the watch back and Yera pulled out a knife before he threw the watch onto the counter and fled, the report said.

When a security officer found Yera, he had two knives in a book bag, the report said. The woman identified Yera as the man from the kiosk encounter, the report said.

Yera was arrested and booked into jail, where he remained held on $7,500 bond Monday, records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.
