Juan Miguel Arellano remained on jail on Wednesday on an aggravated battery charge

A man was arrested after he stabbed a man and took his can of beer in Fort Myers, authorities said.

Juan Miguel Arellano, 50, remained in jail on Wednesday on $50,000 bond and faces a charge of aggravated battery after being arrested on Sunday when authorities found Raul Rivero Diaz bleeding from the abdomen, according to a Lee County Sheriff's Office arrest report.

A jail official said it wasn't known if he had an attorney.

Diaz said he had been sitting in front the Back Bay Market when a man he knew as Juan, asked for his beer, the report said. He didn't give him the can and the man got verbally aggressive and insisted he get the beer, the report said. After Diaz refused again, the man stabbed him in the lower left abdomen, the report said.

Arellano took the beer and left, and authorities found him while en route to the scene with a 16 oz. can of Natural Ice, the report said.

Diaz was transported to the hospital.
