Man Arrested for Hollywood Homicide

Police arrested a man they say was involved in an April murder.

A man was arrested Thursday for a homicide on Fillmore Street that led to a Hollywood Police Investigation.

Bryant Lorenzo Smith, 25, allegedly attempted to commit a robbery that led to the exchange of gunfire that killed Richard Biennestin, Hollywood Police said.

On April 13, authorities were called to an apartment building at 2830 Fillmore Street after several reports of gunshots at unit #2.

When police arrived they found 20-year-old Biennestin, who had been shot. He was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

With the assistance of the Broward Sheriff’s Office and the FBI Fugitive Task Force, Smith was arrested and taken to Broward County Jail. He is being held without bond. It was not immediately known if he had an attorney.
