Police arrested a man accused of using a dog shock collar on two young girls for punishment, according to the Northwest Florida Daily News.

Michael Lee Mitchell, 28, was arrested Tuesday and remains in Okaloosa County Jail on $200,000 bond. He faces two counts of child abuse without great harm, according to jail records.

The 8-year-old victim told police that Mitchell would make her do physical activity he called “suicides” until she vomited, and that he would shock her around her arm if she stopped running, according to the arrest report.

The girl told police that she was able to take off the shock collar and escape into the woods when Mitchell could no longer see her, the Daily News reported.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said he used the collar three times in the last three months.

Mitchell said that he also used the shock collar around a 4-year-old’s waist when she behaved badly, and made one of the girls run alongside his car for three miles.

Mitchell's connection to the girls was not immediately clear.
