Man Arrested in 2015 Murder in Coral Gables

A man has been arrested in the July 2015 murder of another man during a robbery in Coral Gables but a second suspect remains at-large, authorities said.

David Joseph Daniel, 25, was arrested Wednesday on second-degree murder and armed robbery charges in the July 4, 2015 killing of 24-year-old Richard Hernandez, according to a Miami-Dade Police arrest report.

Daniel was being held without bond Thursday, jail records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.

According to police, Hernandez was found in his car in the 1000 block of Salzedo Street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He later died at Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center.

Witnesses told detectives that Daniel and another man, 28-year-old Cecil Monroe, were in the car with Hernandez when he was shot, the arrest report said. The witnesses said Daniel and Monroe forcibly took Hernandez's property and fled after the shooting, the report said.

Monroe remains at-large, according to the report.
